About the hatch book club
Welcome to the first iteration of the hatch book club - a monthly rotating book club hosted by the hatch winery. Each month a member of the hatch staff (aka hatchling) will select a book & wine pairing to feature in the coming month. Those who wish to participate can purchase the book & wine pairing, and enjoy at their leisure. Anyone can attend the monthly book club gathering at the hatch to discuss the book, enjoy wine by the glass, purchase the next wine & book pairing if they desire, and to mingle with other book lovers.

About the book
Yellowface With its totally immersive first-person voice, Yellowface grapples with questions of diversity, racism, and cultural appropriation, as well as the terrifying alienation of social media. R.F. Kuang’s novel is timely, razor-sharp, and eminently readable.
About the wine
Grandpa wasn't a Carpenter, maybe he was a baker? With a nose like freshly baked Lemon Meringue Pie with hints of Almond and the lovely Round and Long Finish this Pinot Auxerrois will have you putting down that hammer and nails and picking up a glass.
About the pairing
Pinot Auxerrois has often been referred to as Pinot Blanc and even Chardonnay. To say that it has a little bit of an identity crisis would be an understatement. Our Auxerrois that Endserrois would seem the perfect pairing for R.F. Kuang's Yellowface, a book with an identity crisis of it's own!
